Do I really need therapy?
Society today puts a lot of pressure on women to be able to handle problems on their own. I often meet women who feel shame because they feel like they "should" be stronger, happier, better. There does not have to be shame in feeling overwhelmed and asking for help. I can help you determine exactly what you need to live your life to your full potential.
Why did you become a therapist?
I know that I have really found my passion in being a counselor. I leave every session with a new burst of life. I am truly inspired by every woman I meet who is courageous enough to look at some of their most painful experiences and emotions and start putting themselves first so they can reach their full potential. I know that this is such a delicate and important process and I genuinely value our time together.
What is a therapy session like?
Therapy sessions are 55 minutes long. Each session is going to be tailored to your individual needs. Typically, during the first session, we work together to determine where you are at in the moment and what your needs and goals are. I do not have an agenda for your counseling sessions. This is your journey and my goal is to guide you to your transformation. Each session after will be focused on your needs whether that be learning and practicing skills, processing events, or just venting if its what you need. Ultimately helping you accomplish your goals is our number one priority!
Do you take insurance?
I am considered an out of network provider. You can call your insurance company to see if they will reimburse for out of network providers. If so, I can provide you with a "superbill" for you to submit to your insurance for reimbursement.
Do you offer sliding scale rates?
I have limited availablity for sliding scale rates. Please contact me for more information.
What makes you different?
My biggest strength is my ability to provide a compassionate non-judgmental space for you to feel comfortable talking openly. Most of the feedback I get from my clients is that I have a quiet but assertive presence. I am empathetic and will also push you towards change. I strive to create a warm, calm, and inviting environment.
